Late Bloomer

A pink rose is fully in bloom, with petals very slightly curling and drooping. Some of the veined petals are beginning to brown a tiny bit. from the frosts they have had. There is a new, deep pink rosebud with opening green sepals, showing promise of another bloom. The background is a dark green of the indiscernable leaves behind.
Late bloomer

This one I could not resist! It was taken today, in the below freezing late fall weather. This beautiful rose bush was featured more than once in my Flower a Day project, so today when I knew I would be seeing it, I made sure to have my camera with me, and I wasn’t disappointed. It does seem unlikely, that such fragile blooms would be so cold hardy, but I really got a lift seeing all the bright roses and in particular this lovely bloom along with the promise of another to come. I hope you all have a bright day.

You can visit my Flowers Gallery here, to see more blooms.

Landing

An abstract image in pale greens, yellows, oranges, purples and blues. There are dark lines with balls, almost like power lines intersecting the colours, along with a pale grid like section.
Landing

This photograph was taken either with in camera multiple exposure, or a long exposure, but I can’t remember which, as it was taken a few years ago. I remember loving the tones and lines in it, giving the feeling of coming down from a flight, into a glowing sunset at the bottom of the image. I was in a Google+ mentorship that was teaching intentional blur and abstract techniques and this was one of the results. Have a lovely Monday, friends.

Long Beach Sunset

A golden sunset scene of a stony beach. The waves are low as they wash onto the shore. The distant hills are a little misty. There is a lone figure in the distance , standing on a spit of stony shore reaching into the water. The clouds are broken, and between them is a pale blue sky at the top of the image, but a golden horizon gives the scene a warm glow.
Long Beach at Sunset

There is little enough peace in the world, so we appreciate the calm moments that we’re so fortunate to experience here. I’m very happy to share this one with you all. Our beach walks in Nova Scotia always seem to ground us and remind us of the beautiful natural elements that are always there, despite all the chaos that we see in the news and social media.

Have a lovely Sunday, whatever you are doing, friends.

School Reflections

A long window divided into narrow panes reflects clouds and a sunset sky with a red streak along the horizon, with silhouetted trees. We see what might be a filing cabinet and a tiny print of a hand, perhaps on the wall above the filing cabinet.
Reflecting on School

The other night after I got the “It’s Over” sunset photos, I passed by a school on my walk. I couldn’t resist the reflection of the remaining glow, as seen in the window here. I loved how the elements worked together, in the multi-paned frame, including the trees, clouds and red streaks with the filing cabinet (I guess) and that mysterious little hand print on the wall. Enjoy your day, friends!

This photo is included in my Blur gallery on my site, for anyone interested in seeing other Intentional Blur and Multiple exposure shots.
