It’s Over

A vibrant red sunset streaks between dark clouds low over the treeline in the middle distance. The foreground is a dark, barely discernible mowed field with low, wild, tangled bushes on the left of the image.
And the Sun Says Goodbye

On my walk last night, I caught flashes of this amazing red sunset through the woods. I ran fast as I could, cutting through thick brush and trees, getting caught in brambles, almost tripping over fallen branches to stumble finally into the field as the scene was coming to a climax. I had my headphones on and was playing “It’s Over” by ELO.

Imagine seeing that sky, at this time of this year in Nova Scotia, with snow forecast for the next day and hearing these lyrics: “Summer came and passed away, Hardly seemed to last a day But it’s over and what can I do? …When you kick out the sea and the sun says goodbye” (ELO) I’ll forever hear that song when I see a sunset and will always now see a scene like this when I hear it. Have a lovely evening or day, friends. Until the next one.

While You Were Sleeping

A sky with what look almost like quilted clouds is lit by a rising sun which shows orange on the hotizon. There is a blue fading from pale to dark as it goes higher above the trees in the foreground. The trees are mixed, some evergreen, most deciduous with branches winter bare. The wunrise and clouds are seen through all except the evergreens.
Good Morning

My thoughts when I saw this were “While You Were Sleeping, a Damask Sky Unfurled”. That morning, I was out with my camera at daybreak when this damask sky appeared behind the house. I liked how it looked to me as if someone was shaking a translucent table cloth over the landscape, about to lay it down over the still sleeping landscape.

Have a wonderful Sunday, friends.

Summer Street Sunset

A darkening evening blue sky is shown above pink sunset reflection clouds that are low on the horizon. The full moon, not large, is directly above a tall tree that stands above the others around it in the middle ground. There are trees to the left of the image, low flowered bushes to the right and a dirt road or drive curves to the left behind the bushes.

A sunset moon to wish you all a peaceful weekend ahead, friends.

An evening walk down quiet Summer Street at sunset can bring such pleasure, with fields on one side and a full moon and reflected pink clouds on the other. This was a phone photo, proving that the best camera is the one you have with you.

Revisit of Country Sunset Dreams

A multiple exposure image of sunset colours over the top of silhouetted corn leaves that rise up into the blue and pink clouds in the sky. There is a thin reddish streak near the right side of the image just above the darkest leaf spikes. The leaves in the image seem to be rising into the clouds, getting paler as they go.
Dream of a country sunset – multiple exposure

I had to run to the nearby field to get this photo as the sun was fading fast. The ripening crop in this field stands about 3 feet taller than my head, with the path on a much lower level. The foliage makes an interesting silhouette in the foreground, but the (in camera) multiple exposure gives such a dreamy feel that I decided to reshare this.

Have a lovely Tuesday, all.
