Hydrangea Late Fall

Dark pink and white hydrangea blooms hang from top left to lower right, lit from the right by a warm evening sun against a dark green background.
Late Fall Hydrangea

Flowers always cheer me, especially when they are lit by a lovely warm evening light. I hope these deep pink and white hydrangeas in the evening glow cheer your day, my friends. They drew me from across the street on our walk, as they seemed to glow. beats doomscrolling.

Moth and Sunset

A moth is on a pink and yellow dahlia flower. The dahlia has toothed petals on the interior, with yellow tips. The outside large ones are a simple point, pink and pale pink. The moth is brown and dark brown with a few black marks.

To wish you a good Friday. Although I suspect this little moth (possibly a cabbage looper) is chewing through my brassicas, I couldn’t resist photographing it on this lovely dahlia flower. Breaking off from doing accounting work which was pressing, I wandered outside saw this and caught it on my phone. I hope you all have a lovely Friday!

After a day of frustration I got out for a quick evening walk and I was rewarded with this scene, also on my phone, so I leave you with it and hope your weekend is a good one.

A dark grey cloudy sky has ripples of clouds interspersed with red markings along the edges. The horizon has various trees interspersed along the ridge, while behind it is a gold patch.

A pinky yellow collarette dahlia with spikey pink inner pettals surround an orange centre. In this centre with its head buried, drinking the nectar. The background is a dark green with light spots.

Well, it is the end of the season, so I can’t stop myself sharing another of our beautiful flowers. This time it’s a new dahlia for us, this year. All of our flowers were so slow to bloom due to the poor weather this year, but they have all outdone themselves at this end of the season. This gentle beauty with her smaller flowers, so aptly named, really does bring me Joy, as I hope she does to you.

This was the photograph that I shared for the BW project for the theme 'Bubbles'. My friend +Ursula Klepper asked to see this in colour and I have to say I do prefer it showing the rich colour of the miniature double aquilegia flowers with the deep yellow stamens.

Why not try freezing flowers or fruit, or….? It can be very addictive and is a perfect occupation for a hot summer day! There is a community dedicated to the fun called "Freeze it Photograph it", here: https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/107337572996687972080
