Gerber Daisy Centre – 59/365

This is a very close up (macro, 1:1 view) of the interior of one of the beautiful Gerber daisies that I was given as a gift last week. I love the way the little curled inner petals (?) look almost as if they are edible. The bits of pollen everywhere are almost untidy (where are the bees when you need them?) but of course I don’t keep indoor bees and the outdoor ones are hopefully well protected from the cold. I hope you enjoy this luscious flower and will forgive me if I have not been as interactive as usual on your posts. 😀 It has been for a very good cause.

This past week has been so busy with other commitments that I have had no time to post the images which I have been taking. So I will do what I can to catch up in my project.

Baby, It's Cold Outside! – 58/365

Don't these look as if they are staring out the window, wide eyed, shocked by the snowy landscape, feeling warm and beautifully lit by the winter morning sun? Almost looks like eyes with a round 'O' mouth, while one is twisted around even more to see what's going on out there. That's how I see them, anyway. They are like a ray of sunshine in the room, even when the sun is no longer shining. So I hope they warm and brighten your day, too!

My dear friends who bring me flowers came by to visit us yesterday – to meet Joni of course. And they brought these flowers. They also brought a big bag of toys and treats for Joni. (She was pretty pleased to meet them, you might imagine! 😉 )

Thank you, Norma and Katheryn, you are so thoughtful, caring and generous as always.

It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over – 57/365

Sunset over the dykes in the Annapolis valley
Sunset over the dykes in the Annapolis valley

The sun was setting as we were coming home last evening and so this scene was a gift to me. I have been so busy this week that I have had little time to do everything I want. So when this image came into view, I jumped out of the car and took the photograph. It is looking across the dykes in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley. The sun as it set almost looked like a red torch (or flashlight) beaming up from the horizon. By the time I stopped to get this, it had changed, but still was lovely.

"I Think I'm Going to be Sick" – 56/365

Today was the day that Joni got her next set of vaccines, so she had to travel in the car to the vet's, a thirty minute drive on twisty, bumpy country roads. You could tell she was feeling a little queasy from carsickness during the trip there, as she started to look like this… We made it to the vet's without incident, at least. She was relaxed and calm at the appointment, a real model pup. However the journey home was the undoing of her and she threw up. Fortunately I was prepared for it. Once again, I took lots of other photographs today, but this one was the one that I think topped the lot for cuteness factor. We can all do with some awwww every day.
