Happiness on a Stem

A grouping of pink daisy-like flowers with orange yellow centres are on a dark green background. They are bright and cheerful.
Pink Sunshine

I’m pretty sure that everyone reading this post needs to see something cheerful and happy at this point. I know that I do. These bright-faced things were facing the setting sun, lighting up the edge of a garden across the road, so I crossed over to look more closely and almost at once I felt better, just looking at them. So here they are as a gift for you all, as is better than Doom Scrolling, every time. Have a lovely weekend, friends.

Hydrangea Late Fall

Dark pink and white hydrangea blooms hang from top left to lower right, lit from the right by a warm evening sun against a dark green background.
Late Fall Hydrangea

Flowers always cheer me, especially when they are lit by a lovely warm evening light. I hope these deep pink and white hydrangeas in the evening glow cheer your day, my friends. They drew me from across the street on our walk, as they seemed to glow. beats doomscrolling.

Brown Eyed Susan Visitor

A flower with mostly yellow petals radiating out from a brown cone centre has an orange, black and white striped bee on its centre. The petals look as if the brown centre has leaked onto the yellow, staining them brown for a little up towards the tip.

Have a great day, friends! This brings me memories of my Flower A Day project, combining two of my favourite subjects – wildflowers and insects, particularly pollinators. This beautiful splash of yellow petals, stained with rich brown attracted me as much as the bee feeding on it. These flowers appeared one year in a field, never to reappear, so I was so glad to have captured a special time.
