Revisit of Country Sunset Dreams

A multiple exposure image of sunset colours over the top of silhouetted corn leaves that rise up into the blue and pink clouds in the sky. There is a thin reddish streak near the right side of the image just above the darkest leaf spikes. The leaves in the image seem to be rising into the clouds, getting paler as they go.
Dream of a country sunset – multiple exposure

I had to run to the nearby field to get this photo as the sun was fading fast. The ripening crop in this field stands about 3 feet taller than my head, with the path on a much lower level. The foliage makes an interesting silhouette in the foreground, but the (in camera) multiple exposure gives such a dreamy feel that I decided to reshare this.

Have a lovely Tuesday, all.

Country Walk in the Fog

A foggy country end of season scene, with dried grasses and a ditch on the left side leading up to a stone culvert. There is, bottom left, an old wooden gate with wooden fencing. A path leads up beside the ditch.
Country walk in the fog

English fog in the countryside lends a lovely softness to a scene, such as this one, which was on a walk near the river close to Coningsby in Lincolnshire.

I hope everyone’s Monday has some gentleness to it. This is being posted from my blog, so feel free to visit from the link if you want to see more of my photographs and stories.

Pink Frilled Violet Study

Pink Frilled African Violet

Pink Frilled African Violet

It has certainly been very strange for me, not making my daily posts. In some ways it has been really good as I have had a chance to step back and take stock of what I wanted to do next. Of course I couldn’t resist picking up my camera and taking these photographs of this beautiful, frilled white edged African Violet. While editing them, I had some difficulty deciding which of the pictures to show you on this, my first post project entry. Then I thought it would be nice to feature three different views as a kind of a study. As I am not committed to daily entries, I can allow myself this luxury and bring to you, my website visitors three different views of this variety. I like this idea of showcasing flowers on a plant from different perspectives and hope that you’ll like it, too. I might see if I can do this kind of study from time to time as a theme – “Beauty From Different Angles”. I hope you enjoy this first in the series. This second flower has this lovely drooping bud behind it to the left that appealed to me, with its promise of more to come.

The last view is almost demure, hiding the yellow centre from us, but has an appeal all of its own, with the opening bud behind and to the right, ready to be fully open very soon.
