Pink Frilled Violet Study

Pink Frilled African Violet

It has certainly been very strange for me, not making my daily posts. In some ways it has been really good as I have had a chance to step back and take stock of what I wanted to do next. Of course I couldn’t resist picking up my camera and taking these photographs of this beautiful, frilled white edged African Violet. While editing them, I had some difficulty deciding which of the pictures to show you on this, my first post project entry. Then I thought it would be nice to feature three different views as a kind of a study. As I am not committed to daily entries, I can allow myself this luxury and bring to you, my website visitors three different views of this variety. I like this idea of showcasing flowers on a plant from different perspectives and hope that you’ll like it, too. I might see if I can do this kind of study from time to time as a theme – “Beauty From Different Angles”. I hope you enjoy this first in the series. This second flower has this lovely drooping bud behind it to the left that appealed to me, with its promise of more to come.

The last view is almost demure, hiding the yellow centre from us, but has an appeal all of its own, with the opening bud behind and to the right, ready to be fully open very soon.

  1. What could be better than a single pink flower? Well two pink flowers, of course. So three perfectly lovely pink african violets makes the day the best perfect PFD, even if it is a day late. Thank you, Ellie, for putting a definite roseate glow on an otherwise dull, dreary and damp day.

    1. As there is no daily Post, no comment is a day late or otherwise! I’m just glad that you liked my three pink flower day offerings. Thanks so much, Janet.

  2. Lovely captures of it. Kind of freedom to post how you want. I was just gifted 3 different African Violets. I know one is a purple frilly one, I am excited to see what the other 2 are.

    1. It is a lovely freedom! Thanks Shelly.
If you lived nearer, Steven just said, we would gift you loads!
Let me know when they bloom!

  3. They are very lovely Ellie. Don’t think I’ve ever seen that particular one of Steve’s. Quite a bit different I find than the regular. Thanks again for sharing.
