Puppy Play at Joni's Blue Ball Play Station – 71/365

Today I discovered that a jet from a spray bottle is a good reminder to Joni to stop doing naughty things. It doesn't hurt her but gets the message across quickly and effectively. I mean such naughty things as jumping up on my chair when I am eating or when I'm trying to use the laptop on the table. As my chair is also her blue ball station, we have come to a compromise where I can sit on it and she can play with her toys, including her blue ball underneath it. There is room for both of us. Here she is just having fun with Steven in between playing the blue ball game.

The Old Fashioned and Predictable is Comforting – 70/365

In the movie "Julie and Julia" one of them makes a comment about the wonderful predictability in cooking. I know just what they mean. I find it very grounding on a day when technology is causing hassles and tech support is no help (or I am tech support), to come into the kitchen. I know for a certainty that mixing flours, water and natural yeasts in the form of my own mature sourdough culture will result in a satisfying fermentation that will eventually come out as wonderful loaf of warm bread. When everything else in the world seems to be going pear shaped, this age old practice is satisfying and calming.

Computer Use Can Be Dangerous – 69/365

This was the scene I saw when I looked up from my desk yesterday. It just seemed so incongruous that I had to grab the camera. Was it dangerous because Steven was chatting with +Cynthia Gibson on Facebook? We know how risky facebook is…  Or was it that he was worried about me launching missiles at him? More likely it was that, because he had got into big trouble from me for not wearing a face guard one day last week…. when he should have. In short, what looked like a smudge of blackwood dust on his cheek (or lipstick, some took it to be) was actual damage that would have been prevented by the use of this device you see in the picture. He went out the next day with strict instructions to purchase one. It could have been so much worse.

But you can take it off sometimes, Steven! I have forgiven you. 😀

Through the Diamond Window – 68/365

I had the idea to photograph the garden through the diamond panes in the back door and was interested to see if the angled glass would give fractured results. When Joni appeared under the bird feeder (there is really only one round one and one each of the others) and seemed to be confused as she looked at them this was the picture I got. (I'm a little slow in replying to everyone's lovely comments, please forgive me, especially as I so much appreciate them. I will do it as soon as I can! Thanks all! 🙂 )
