Joni Looking Almost Grown Up – 84/365

Last Friday Joni had been out for a while and I went to find her. It was a lovely day, sunny but cold. As I came around the corner of the house, I saw her standing in a spot that our old Joni liked, just beside the poplar trees. She looked at me, and as she stood there, she had the look of a grown dog. In fact it could almost have been our old friend. She just stood and looked at me like this for a while and I just enjoyed the moment. She is growing up fast now.

Coffee in Steven's Special Mug – 83/365

We love to drink our coffee in beautiful mugs. This is another hand made one that we bought in Ontario last October. But it was photographed last Thursday, April 3rd, for my friends at Coffee Thursday. The coffee is an Arabica bean, Italian roast, organic and fair trade from Just Us Coffee. Made nice and strong as espresso. Yum!

Love Me, Love My Blue Ball – 82/365

Now I know why Joni loves Steven so much! I have discovered that dogs can see the colour blue, which is why Joni's favourite toys are blue – her blue ball and her blue Wubba, for example. And if you look at Steven's eyes…. well they are very blue! Dogs can see blues and yellows, but not shades of red, or green. Mystery solved. I think she loves him for different reasons too.

Steven was giving Joni a cuddle and I thought I would get another photograph of them, and as they turned around and I pointed the camera, I saw that Joni had her blue ball in her mouth. She loves that blue ball still.

This was taken last Wednesday, April 2nd (yes, taken on the day for the project, I am back on track, just late in posting). I'm catching up. See my postings on my website https://www.elliekennard.ca

Valley Evening Drive – 81/365

On the Monday after the ice storm, the renovation work was in full swing and I had a lot to do and only renovation work to document. So I am harking back to the Saturday night before, on our lovely evening drive through the snowy Annapolis Valley, on our way to the concert in Margaretsville in the Evergreen Theatre (+Evergreen Theatre) . I intentionally blurred the images of the road and landscape as we drove through it, to just give an impression of this journey. The sun was setting in a haze behind the clouds.
