Project 366

A project I undertook in 2012 to share one photograph I took each day of that leap year. The subjects are diverse and show the development of my own photographic skills as I learned how to use my camera and compose photographs as I wanted them to be seen and enjoyed.

Negative Space

In album Weekly Photo Project 2013

The theme of this week's Weekly Photo Project (for those who don't know) is Negative Space – in the photographic principle sense, or however you want to interpret it.

I took this after leaving the peace of the wetlands habitat where I was photographing the mallard. I had been looking for some negative space in that environment, but all I found was positive space everywhere I looked. Then I came up the hill towards the car and saw this. It seemed as negative a space as I had come across that day. But of course it has the negative space above it, photographically speaking. And that does serve as a foil to the complication and intricacies involved in the subject of the building and title….

When You Feel That Your World is Being Swept From Under Your Feet

In album Project 52 B&W

Sometimes it's good to just go for a walk and breathe fresh air and see the beautiful creatures around you. Seeing this female duck peacefully paddling in gentle swirls and nibbling at whatever she was finding under the water made me, too, feel that calm that she appeared to be experiencing. She looks as though she is at risk of disappearing into a vortex but it doesn't bother her at all..

The Most Delicious Lighthouse – which is NOT a Lighthouse and so a Perfect Fit for the Theme!

At a recent going away party for friends, this Lighthouse cake was the centrepiece and was made by my friend +Anna Parsons (who is new to G+) who has a wonderful cake making business (Just a Couple of Chicks) in Nova Scotia. Feast your eyes on more of her cakes in her album. I think my favourite so far is the wonderful stack of old books. Just my kind of wedding cake!  https://plus.google.com/u/0/108265704726654300550/posts

Billy Wilson – a Proud Young Man with a Vision

The host of +That Show with Billy Wilson (TSBW) is a very determined and enterprising person.  He works hard to bring interesting and informative discussions to his shows and he supports hard working musicians and promotes them by having them appear as his musical guests on his show. He deserves to meet all of his goals! When you have watched his video, read about his Creator Goals on his Patreon Site here: http://www.patreon.com/billywilson
Contributions of even as little as $1 (or more, of course) per episode can make a huge difference in his life. Just imagine! If 150 people (or more) felt they could pledge less than the price of a cup of coffee per episode (his episodes are weekly), this would help Billy to realize his dreams,.
