Project 366

A project I undertook in 2012 to share one photograph I took each day of that leap year. The subjects are diverse and show the development of my own photographic skills as I learned how to use my camera and compose photographs as I wanted them to be seen and enjoyed.

Original Post: Waiting for the Spring Floods to Subside – 86/365 – April 11, 2014

We did manage to get out for a walk around the wetland habitat nearby last Sunday afternoon, in the hopes of catching sight of some spring nest building or other activity. Instead, we found the ice still in the middle of the water, only the shores having open areas. On top of this late melt, there have been heavy rains and the paths and inland woods areas were either flooded or still snow covered. These mallard seemed pretty fed up, in what should have been the floor of the forest at the edges of the wetlands. He seems to be on the water, where she has one foot on the rock, balancing neatly, while the other is tucked under her.

Joni in Paper Camera – 85/365

It's so hard to get out and take any photographs with so much destruction, rebuilding and in the meantime chaos happening around me. The one who seems to b completely unfazed by the work is Joni. Of course she is happy as long as she can find bits of things to chew and play with. Here I just had my phone and my Paper Camera app, so decided to play with it. For my friends on #SketchguruSaturday – the fun curators +paula contreras  +Christina Lihani  +Amanda Wyckoff No, it's not art. But it's different. And experimenting can lead to great things. (I'm not a fan of phone photos usually.)

Joni Looking Almost Grown Up – 84/365

Last Friday Joni had been out for a while and I went to find her. It was a lovely day, sunny but cold. As I came around the corner of the house, I saw her standing in a spot that our old Joni liked, just beside the poplar trees. She looked at me, and as she stood there, she had the look of a grown dog. In fact it could almost have been our old friend. She just stood and looked at me like this for a while and I just enjoyed the moment. She is growing up fast now.

Coffee in Steven's Special Mug – 83/365

We love to drink our coffee in beautiful mugs. This is another hand made one that we bought in Ontario last October. But it was photographed last Thursday, April 3rd, for my friends at Coffee Thursday. The coffee is an Arabica bean, Italian roast, organic and fair trade from Just Us Coffee. Made nice and strong as espresso. Yum!
