Week 15/26: #BWProject26
This spider is not one to take on a bee, unlike the one I posted yesterday, but was sitting in a very fine, almost invisible web above the wet giant hosta leaf. It seems to be hovering in mid air and is so visible I can't imagine how any prey would be surprised by it. Unlike yesterday's gruesome scene which needed colour to be properly appreciated, this one is perfect for converting to black and white for the theme.
My posts are all on my blog : https://www.elliekennard.ca

This is cool and a great shot! Missed this one somehow. Well done!
+Ellie Kennard bahaha! I am living proof that guys can be afraid of them, thanks for tagging me so I had to see this picture again 😉
+James Listig – and not only girls are afraid of them, sometimes it can be guys too ( +Dylan Johnson ?) but they do a lot of good, you are right.
How wonderful +Terri Kauffman – I believe that is the therapy for those who have spider phobias!
Thanks so much +Gernot Glaeser – you are right, it is not doing what it was meant to do. I'm glad you found it too.
I'm glad I came across this one now, the hashtag search seems to be really unreliable lately… This is so delicate – wonderful work, +Ellie Kennard !
I love spiders ihave an black widow
Okay now there's some girls that are afraid of these things but you know they do come in handy when theres flys flying around
Thanks very much +Giselle Savoie
Great shot, awesome focus on the spider!
Haha that's nice
Thank you +soo in lee – you see, I was looking at the leaf, at the patterns of the shapes on it, when suddenly I saw that there was a spider sitting above it. But I wouldn't have seen it if I hadn't been looking really carefully. Then I focused carefully on the spider, not on the leaf. I focused manually there, or the camera would have focused on the leaf.
+Ellie Kennard you have a brilliant sense of photography wow really fantastic
Excellent

+Karen Cooper they truly are! And seeing what you had written I got a photograph of something specially for you. As soon as I am up to it I will download and post it. ☺
Amazing shot – aren't spiders fabulous creatures? Now I have a complaint – not only do you have hummingbirds in your hostas, you also have GIANT hostas! again I feel I'm falling short ;0)
looks good
+Linda Villers thanks so much, Linda.
+Ellen Lion thank you very much, I'm really glad you do.
Thank you for that too, +Debbie Drummond – I'm glad you like it. 😀

+Stephen Thackeray high praise from the master of nature images, thank you Steve!
+John Dusseault Thanks very much, John.
+Sandra Nesbit Thanks so much, Sandra. Tiny but mighty, I agree. 😀
+Diana Boyd I was hoping that the host leaf texture would show a bit at least, so I'm happy you said that. Thanks a lot.
+Rachel Ferris thanks!
+Pat Kight Thanks so much and also for the id of the orb weaver. I didn't know what it was. 😀
Love this one, great shot!

Gorgeous! Looks like an orb-weaver – I love them!
She does, but was so still I could get her really in focus with that very shallow depth of field. Thanks +Heiko Mahr
She really seems to fly.
