Project 366

A project I undertook in 2012 to share one photograph I took each day of that leap year. The subjects are diverse and show the development of my own photographic skills as I learned how to use my camera and compose photographs as I wanted them to be seen and enjoyed.

The Old Fashioned and Predictable is Comforting – 70/365

In the movie "Julie and Julia" one of them makes a comment about the wonderful predictability in cooking. I know just what they mean. I find it very grounding on a day when technology is causing hassles and tech support is no help (or I am tech support), to come into the kitchen. I know for a certainty that mixing flours, water and natural yeasts in the form of my own mature sourdough culture will result in a satisfying fermentation that will eventually come out as wonderful loaf of warm bread. When everything else in the world seems to be going pear shaped, this age old practice is satisfying and calming.

Computer Use Can Be Dangerous – 69/365

This was the scene I saw when I looked up from my desk yesterday. It just seemed so incongruous that I had to grab the camera. Was it dangerous because Steven was chatting with +Cynthia Gibson on Facebook? We know how risky facebook is…  Or was it that he was worried about me launching missiles at him? More likely it was that, because he had got into big trouble from me for not wearing a face guard one day last week…. when he should have. In short, what looked like a smudge of blackwood dust on his cheek (or lipstick, some took it to be) was actual damage that would have been prevented by the use of this device you see in the picture. He went out the next day with strict instructions to purchase one. It could have been so much worse.

But you can take it off sometimes, Steven! I have forgiven you. 😀

My posts have gone missing

Edit: Post is now back in place! Thanks to G+ for finding and restoring it.

It's easy to know if a post is missing when you are doing a 365 project. In this case I was looking for a posting. The photograph is there in the album (I did not upload an image without making a posting about it). But the post is missing. #26/365. That is the one I found to be missing. I have not checked others, but I am pretty sure that there will be others.

How do we recover missing posts, I wonder? This was an issue that was around in 2012, which seems to be ongoing.
