Project 366

A project I undertook in 2012 to share one photograph I took each day of that leap year. The subjects are diverse and show the development of my own photographic skills as I learned how to use my camera and compose photographs as I wanted them to be seen and enjoyed.

Always Have Flowers

Original Post May 7, 2014 – 111/365 of the #365 Photo Project

It doesn’t matter if the whole house is being demolished and rebuilt around you. If you have flowers, you always feel better when you look at them. The fallen plaster, dust and chaos fade into insignificance. And what colour to choose? Why tulip pink, of course! What else?

Stranded Puffer Fish or Empty Seed Pod? (110/365)

I know (and I'm sure you know) the answer, so no prizes for guessing, but this really did remind me of those sweet little puffer fishes we had in our aquarium, many years ago.  Having seen a few signs of early Spring I was on the hunt for more when I found this. Nothing to do with Spring, but interesting, nevertheless.

Darling Buds of May (109/365)

There are more signs of spring, even in the cold and damp. And every one is encouraging. Every one makes us feel just that little bit less tired and worn from the long hard winter. Every bud and bloom tells us that there has been sun. And that there will be more. And heat? Yes, even heat. And blackflies. And then mosquitos. Keep positive, keep positive.

Willow Catkins in the Setting Sun (108/365)

Wonderful furry little harbingers of spring are these catkins. They were backlit by the setting sun and I loved the way they looked all aglow. It seems that the name catkin comes from an old Dutch word meaning 'kitten' as they look like a kitten's tail. That works for me. Happy Spring everyone!

I was glad that I had my camera with me on our evening walk that day.
