There seem to be so many of these calliopsis, coreopsis type flowers with different markings and petals, each of which has its own beauty. This is another (yes, another) from my rewilded patch, which, as I said the other day, is turning into a treasure trove of flowers for my project. This sunny bloom has lovely serrated golden petals surrounding its small, compact centre so that it’s hard to believe it is not some exotic plant from a hothouse, but growing wild(ish) among the grasses and weeds in Nova Scotia. I hope it brings a smile to the start of your day and week, my friends. View all posts on the Home page. A Flower a Day #373

With its hard button nose and raggedy petals, this defiant little plant should be able to hold its own among the other wild ones. No less pretty, it bears its bright colours boldly, enough to ensure it stands out amongst the competition – a lesson for us all. Thank you, Ellie.
Poor little thing! Raggedy petals? She took the scissors to them herself, following the serrated fashion! And with her cute button nose, as you say, stands out in the crowd very nicely. Thanks again, Janet.
Thank you very much Ellie. It is a beautiful bright flower. Love the way the petals have the designs on them and the color right next to the center on the petal. It is a bright spot in anybody’s day. Hope you have a lovely day today. Hugs to you and Steve
Thanks Linda. I loved that about this flower myself, I’m so glad you see the same beauty. Hugs back to you and Blair.
