I always think of day lilies as one of the quintessential Canadian / North American summer flowers. I don’t remember seeing them anywhere in Europe, though no doubt they exist there. So for your weekend enjoyment I present a multiple exposure of this joyful one which is growing in my garden. This seems to be one of the most common ones, but even so the bright colour always cheers me up no matter what else is going on.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
As I am rescuing images and posts from Google+ I found this photo taken in 2012 of Day Lilies and it seemed a good place to put them.

It seems that it is raining everywhere except where it needs it most. We need a lot of rain and we did have a very cloudy day with a few showers. But no real good downpours or nice steady rain. The day lily flower only lasts for one day (hence the name). There are day lilies everywhere at this time of year and I would consider this one of the most common. That doesn’t make it any less lovely in my opinion.

Hi Ellie, the lilies are a very interesting use of multiple exposures I love the creativity it provides.

Thanks so much, +Ursula Klepper. Perhaps you do. The blooms each last for just one day.
Very beautiful! I can't recognize exactly, but I guess I have the same one in my garden. 😊
Beautiful
+Ellie Kennard Thank you. yes the blursand other techniques are so fresh and innoovative. I have been shooting mostly blurs, i mean my oopsies even when they are suppose to be sharp.
The new mentorship, Though very much tempted but i havent applied yet. +Lauri Novak recent posts are so gr8 & have been watching the immense growth and progress of my fellow mentees in the alumni , but you can say less motivated.
+Sonia S thank you! Have you applied for the 'How Do You See?' mentorship being offered by +Lauri Novak at the moment? Might be a good way to get your inspiration revived?
I really enjoy so many aspects of the blur and abstract methods. The multiple exposure one is one I use almost every time I am out and see a subject that looks as if it will lend itself to the technique. If I think and plan it well it usually is pleasing. Not so hit and miss as it was. Though I hope it looks more random and serendipitous.
+Ellie Kennard thats so amazingly abstract & attractive. I am so far away from all these experiments lately. Guess ,only attending the mentorships can make me practice and learn.
Thanks +Sumit Sen
Thank you, +Rob Patterson
Oh yes, +Lynn David Newton – in my childhood they were called Popsicles but were the same all the way through. I had them when I was little, for sure.
Wonderful!! Good weekend to you as well!! 🙂
Delightful!

+Lynn David Newton we might do, I just haven't seen one. Would have been a good name for the day lily.
It was my pleasure +BobbieZen ! I'm glad you liked it.
Lovely! +Ellie Kennard the color is wonderfully cheerful … Brightened up my day, thank you!
Just got in from a hot morning in the field, saw that, and thought the color reminds me of an orange Dreamcicle. Have you seen those up there?
Ellie my Mum grew them everywhere in my tender years .. they sprung up like weeds and we had them everywhere .. yes the weekend is away here and nothing on the telly but Olympics …
I guess I have not noticed them in Europe or the UK, +Eve Aebi – but I was pretty sure they were being cultivated there as they are so pretty. They only last for one day, hence the name.
We have them as well, just not in the wild, I guess. I had a couple in the bouquet and I've seen them grow in gardens. Anyway, this is a joyful image. Happy weekend!
For you….anything +Ellie Kennard !! Hoping that you have a fabulous weekend too! :))
Joyful, indeed.
And they grow nicely in Ohio.
Thank you Cathy! And of course I realized that they do and should have said ‘quintessentially North American’ summer flower. But of course I just think of them in the context of my time in Canada. Ohio is all the lovelier for their beauty, I’m sure. 😀
Thanks so much for brightening mine in return, +Carmen Mandich – have a wonderful weekend!
+Ellie Kennard Brightening my day! Lovely!!!! Thanks Ellie!! :))
