Zinnia and Friends

I’m staying in those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer, when zinnias were two a penny and they each had as many visitors as they wanted. I know that frustrations in our lives can seem overwhelming, but when I look at the simple beauty in this flower which is at its best for only a few days at most, as well as its busy, short-lived insect life, somehow all of those stresses and worries seem to melt away. I am reminded that each day comes only once and if we fail to make what we can of it, tomorrow will crowd today out and today will be yesterday. So let us make sure that looking back at today we have a smile, remembering something good that happened, even if it’s only a flower with a couple of bugs wandering over it. 1. Thanks so much Ellie that is an amazing flower. I love the colour but the centre is very intriguing. So much going on in that one little spot it seems. You do have a cute little friend on the petals. I hope you and Steve had a great day. Not sure what tomorrow will bring. Maybe you’ll get to try out your generator.

    1. I knew you would love the centre on this one, Linda. Thanks for the lovely comment. I hope you don’t have too much work with clearing the snow. Hugs to you both

  2. This sweet zinnia incorporates so much; a PFD, a WWAD, a friendly spot to meet up with one’s friends on a quilted and tufted ottoman in the sky with a beautiful ornament n the centre. Nirvana! Thank you, Ellie, for conjuring up this warm and cosy image.

  3. I love all the photos but even more, your philosophical comments that brighten my days. Thank you for all your messages.

    1. Thank you for that lovely comment, Kathy, which has actually brightened my day! I didn’t think many people had the time (or even the interest, maybe) to read them, so this really has cheered me. I hope you are both well.
