Lavender Blue

Doesn’t this patch of lavender flowers, complete with its bee, just take you to a sunny summer afternoon, full of the wonderful perfume and sounds of humming insects? I can look at this, close my eyes and almost be there, with the warm sun on my face and a light breeze just moving the flower stems, gently, not enough to dislodge the insects hard at their work. This time is not as far away as it seems, so I am loving just looking out at the deep white covering outside my window and knowing that the scene I picture here is not many weeks away…. okay, months away… Each season has its particular beauty to enjoy, but I confess that the dream of spring and summer makes the winter bright cold that much more bearable. Have a lovely day, whether you are indoors, out in the cold, snowy world, or you live in the Southern hemisphere and have the joy of seeing these in your own garden today! 1. Lavender’s blue, dilly, dilly.
Lavender’s blue…do you think that little bee’s name is dilly? He seems to love the lavender and I’m sure it’s mutual. How could one not love lavender-the look, the aroma, the colour- the whole package?! Thank you, Ellie, for this symbiotic pairing.

    1. As you say, what’s not to love, Janet? And that goes for us as well as for any bee, whatever his name! Thanks for sharing my admiration and commenting, as always.

  2. The lavender blue is a beautiful color. Can see why the bee was so attracted to it. And you can almost smell that fragrance from the lavender. Great to walk through a whole field of it. It will be nice when it’s back. Hope you’re having a great day. Hugs to you and Steve.

    1. Oh yes, it will happen soon enough, Linda, and then it will go by too quickly, so I am savouring the memories until the reality is here. Thanks to you and hugs back to you both.

    1. I’m happy if you felt inspired, Len. Now go out and look at the real thing, which you can do, down under. I’m a little jealous, I admit. Have a great day.
