Late Season Marigold
I wish it weren’t ‘late’ for everything floral these days, but the seasons are progressing relentlessly and so any recent photos will inevitably be late. It won’t be too long until I go back into my archives and bring you some ‘mid’ and ‘early’ ones to get us through the winter. On the other hand, these late ones have a lovely rich quality and I do not want to miss any of them before they are finally finished. I am again bathed in golden sunshine, though it’s cold outside. But at least we have no snow yet, as I was reminded by my photos that this time last year there was already a dusting. I can wait for that, although it is lovely to see. Have a lovely day, whatever the season. View all posts on the Home page. A Flower a Day #423

November 21 Gallery :
A gallery of flowers shared on a daily basis to cheer myself and hopefully you, the viewer too, during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic period. Posts from November 2021

It may be late in the day for this marigold, but look at the intensity with which it blazes, having captured the sun’s rays all summer long. May I glow as fervently when my time comes. “Do not go gentle into at that good night”. I’m with Dylan Thomas and this marigold on that one. Thank you, Ellie, for a golden day.
It is truly going out with a bang! (or at least a bright flare, as you pointed out). I hope we can both glow fervently as long as we glow, but then I wish for us a kind and gentle departure, at least. 🙂 Thanks Janet.
It is a lovely bright flower. Love the curly petals and the thickness of the flower. Although it makes it a little more difficult to zoom in on the centre. It is a beautiful bright spot on a bit of an overcast day. Hope for more sun this afternoon. Hope you have a great day hugs to you and Steve. Thanks again for the little pick me up.
Looks like you got your wish for sunshine, Linda. I hope my flower had something to do with that (though I have my doubts). I’ll see what I can do to give you more zooming into centres, though perhaps not for a day or so. Thanks again, Linda.
