This cheery flower on its tall stem appears to float above the garden, in my ‘rewilded’ patch. There are several of these in that patch, which is quite gratifying for me and for the insects and I notice that I took more photographs of one of these yesterday. I think that was because I was fascinated by the tiny detail in the centre and the way the pattern spreads along each petal and that each time I see a more recent bloom I think it looks even better than the last. Nature doesn’t care that these 2 vibrant colours are adjacent on the colour wheel and therefore not supposed to be complimentary. Now I’m wondering why we care. I say ‘nature knows best’. Proof is in the looking. Thanks, Ellie, for this vivid choice.
