Steven had mentioned these yucca flowers to me but it had been a day or two before I could get to them to take the photo as the weather had taken a turn for the worse. When I finally got there, the rain had beaten down their tall stems so that they were lying over onto the ground and the bank next to them. I lay on the grassy bank, aiming along at them and managed to get this photo, raindrops and all. The next time I passed them they had all been staked upright and very neat and tidy and had a whole new lease of life. If the day beats you down, a cheering word from a friend will lift your spirits in the same way. So if one of you needs a little metaphorical staking, here is that word for you along with the lovely flower. View all posts on the Home page. A Flower a Day #356

Heads bowed a bit maybe but not too battered or bruised, knowing in their heart of hearts there is still some growing to be done. The job is not yet finished. Rather, they have a demure look to them, wearing that raindrop on its brow with satisfaction, like we might do after a good workout. Maturing after all, is hard work. Thank you, Ellie, for today’s inspiration.
“Maturing… is hard work” Excellent! Absolutely. And though tiring, very satisfying when accomplished, at least when you are a plant. Maybe a little less maturing in a person might be appreciated at times. Thanks for the comment, I’m glad you liked today’s offering, Janet.
Thanks Ellie they are amazing flowers. I have a lot in the back Garden. And a whole lot of new baby ones coming up next to my rock wall if you want any. Hugs to you and Steve hope you have a great day.
Thanks Linda. I hope that pounding rain hasn’t knocked them to the ground! (Though, come to think of it, I think they are finished now.) And thanks you for that kind offer. I’ll enjoy them at your place! Enjoy your day!
