Yellow Tulip

We have very few tulips in our garden, have never actually planted any I don’t think, and so what we get are all hardy volunteers that have survived at least 24 years of lawn mowing. This is one of those survivors, after a shower. I am a soft touch when it comes to any flowers with raindrops on them, so I can’t resist getting my camera out when I see one, like this. Perhaps the tulip itself might not have been the most outstanding bloom in my project, but the drops outlining it in this way lift it out of the ordinary, giving us a bright spot to start your day, whenever you see it. I hope you have some moments that elevate your day in some way, as these tiny drops briefly turned this into a jewelled wonder. Flower a Day #474 View all posts on the Home page.

  1. Maybe more of an abstract of a tulip than a portrait, is this photo, but the raindrops are exquisite. And the tulip, as yet unopened, provides a sunny support for the reflective substance. Thank you, Ellie, for this double exposure.

  2. It is lovely Ellie. Such a cheery bright yellow colour. The raindrops do add much Beauty to it. When you zoom in it looks like a diamond necklace hanging around the petals. Thanks again for sharing. Hope you and Steve have a great day.
