White Edged Poppy
In the background of the Crumpled Poppy post from a few days ago, you can see what I think is this white edged poppy. It almost stole the scene, so obviously I had to feature it at some point and that point is today. This is another delightful bloom from the garden of my green-fingered friend, Jane. When I look back on the great variety of different flowers that I photographed on that visit to her relatively modestly sized garden, it shows me how achieving such a wonderful garden is within the grasp of anyone who has a love for gardening and is prepared to put in the work. That’s true of many things in life. I hope your day is filled with such achievements from your hard work, of whatever kind it might be. Flower a Day #506 View all posts on the Home page.

January 2022 Gallery :
A gallery of flowers shared on a daily basis to cheer myself and hopefully you, the viewer too, during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic period. Posts from January 2022.
Out of the shadows and into the limelight…and no wonder. This white rimmed poppy is a natural for centre-stage. Don’t hide your candle under a bushel, I always say. Thank you, Ellie, for giving us a PFD candidate who knows how to shine.
Shining example of a poppy, that’s a great analogy, thanks Janet!
Thank you so much Ellie it is beautiful. Just like a white trim along the edge of a lovely skirt. But also the center is intriguing with the light white mixed with the colour there. The center almost reminds me of a sand dollar that you’d see on the beach. Thanks again for sharing and giving us the opportunity to examine it very closely. Hope you’re having a great day loving the sunshine. Hugs to you and Steve
It’s always my pleasure to share with you, Linda, as you take so much trouble to examine all of the details. Sand dollars remind me of Carter’s Beach… in the old days. Have a lovely day, Linda. xo Hugs back.
