Tansy Aster

This is a nicely blue aster to greet you on another Happy WWAD! As I write this the sun is shining brightly here and the gold colours of the leaves in the front of our house are reflecting a warm glow on me through the window. I have a post I am soon going to make to treat you all to some fall colours around here and I will give you the link to it when it is ready (I don’t send out an email for posts other than Flower a Day ones currently). There have been some beautiful sights this year. Meanwhile, today you can enjoy the thought of these rich blue petals with the yellow centre contrasting so nicely. Warm hugs to you all, my friends. You will find a link to all the past galleries by month in the main post (below). View all posts on the Home page.  A Flower a Day #418

  1. I am not surprised the bees chose this vivid blue saucer in which to build their hive…or so it appears, at first glance. And who could blame them if they did? The rich golden cones are a perfect compliment to the cobalt blue of the aster’s petals…once again nature has delivered a master class in floral design. Thank you, Ellie, for being her agent.

    1. It’s true that the centre is very like a honeycomb. I hope the remaining bees and even butterflies (a monarch butterfly was just up the road yesterday, apparently) are able to take advantage of these beautiful late offerings. And thank you for that lovely thought, Janet.

  2. Love that colour. And you captured that Tansy Aster so beautifully. Thanks for the treat Ellie 🙂

  3. Thanks so much for sharing Ellie. It is a beautiful flower. Love the colour and the contrasting centre as you mentioned. The details in the centre are amazing. I would like to obtain some seeds for planting in the back field. Would be lovely to see a field of those flowers growing. Hope you have a great day hugs to you and Steve.

    1. Now wouldn’t that be something to see? I’ll keep an eye out for any, but as I’m not even sure where this was… Thanks again, Linda.
