Purple Edged Dahlia
This is a domestic flower from our own garden (or possibly from the flower farm down the road) and was so delightful that I had to catch it for you today. The sun was just hitting it perfectly to backlight the outer petals. I never tire of the variety of the patterns and colours on these dahlias. And it seems that you can eat the tubers, rather like potatoes. I have never done so, but if you have, let me know what you thought of them. As I write this it is a beautiful sunny day and I can’t get out into it without first doing a lot of cooking today. So I will love you and leave you for now. Have a lovely Tuesday, my friends. See you all tomorrow. View all posts on the Home page. A Flower a Day #395

October 21 Gallery :

You’re sure this is a real flower, Ellie? It has the look of an unfinished painting where the artist has outlined the petals in the colour he wants to use, but hasn’t got round to filling in the petals themselves. But then nature is the best artist, isn’t she? And no one can say she doesn’t know what she’s doing. That being the case, I will appreciate it as it is found. Perfection in its diversity. Thank you, Ellie, for the art lesson.
A work of art in a flower, for sure, Janet! It does look as though the artist started on the edges, the way we did as children, did a few streaks and then decided to leave it as it was… perfection as you say. Thanks again, Janet.
Thanks so much Ellie. It is amazing the different designs colors shapes of these flowers. Love the way you capture it with the light coming through it so they’re almost looks like there’s a light inside the flower that’s beaming out. Thanks again enjoy your cooking and hopefully you’ll have a chance to get out in the sunshine this afternoon. Hugs to you and Steve.
Thanks once again, Linda. Yes, the light can make all the difference in a photograph, for sure. Especially when it comes to … well anything, but always flowers! When I was writing this about the cooking was Saturday, so I didn’t have too much of that today, at least. I didn’t get out much anyway, at least not yet, so I should try now! Hugs back.
