Purple Edged African Violet

I have to confess that I got very close to writing a ‘This Project is Coming to an End’ post. I must have let myself get a little low and I started to feel a little burned out, which is never a good thing. Thankfully I prepare my photos and posts a couple of days ahead, so I let myself have a breather and even picked up my camera again, as you can see by today’s photograph. I walked around our African Violet collection, as Steven suggested and saw how many beautiful ones there are. It was refreshing to look again at what is right in front of me, not to yearn for what is not around outside at the moment. So I am still continuing, my friends, I hope you are still getting enjoyment from the daily posts. If not, take a breather yourselves and come back to them with fresh eyes and they might, again, cheer the day a little. Flower a Day #516 View all posts on the Home page.

  1. You see, Ellie, these little violets are sympathising with you. They are clustered together for warmth and in so doing, acquire cheer and strength from each other. Just look at those dear faces, eagerly seeking the light and brightening in the centre in the process. Their secret is that Spring is wherever they bloom and so I hope take heart in that perspective and embrace it. Hugs to you, Ellie, along with my thanks for this enduring project of hope and beauty.

    1. I have indeed taken heart, in part from these pretty flowers and in part from the kind and enduring support from friends such as you. Thank you, too, Janet.

  2. What a gorgeous one! My chiropractor’s wife has promised me an offspring of her purple frilly one. I will definitely be shooting that if I get it. Glad you decided to stick with the project. Your take on these flowers is just gorgeous. I love going through the gallery big. Winter stinks so I can sympathize with how you feel. I am rather burnt out on my stuff because there is not much that is inspiring me these days.

    1. Burnout seems to happen these days, to so many, which makes things hard for everyone. As long as we keep doing what we can to look after each other and ourselves (first, going on the principle that we put on our own oxygen mask before helping others) then we will get through this. Thanks for your constant support and encouragement. XO

  3. Thanks so very much Ellie it is a beautiful flower. And it’s great that Steve has so many on the windowsill for you to look at. I appreciate all the hard work you do to photograph check the information about the flowers. Post them and then reply to all the comments that you are given. That has to take a lot of your time. Thanks again hope you have a great day hugs to you and Steve.

    1. Thank you for your kind comments, Linda. I always appreciate the support you give, so faithfully. I do wish we were back to the days of in-person visits, but your comments are a daily consolation.
