Purple and White Petunias
These simple and common flowers, the petunias seem to evoke so many memories for so many viewers that I am happy to share yet another colour combination of them. They were possibly a very popular edging plant of small city lawns, at least in North America in the 1950’s, which is when I remember my mother having them. Here, now, they seem to favour showing them off in planters or hanging baskets along our village streets, which give lovely patches of colour. I hope they evoke happy summer flower bed (or planter) memories for you as they do for me and they brighten your day. Flower a Day #457

December 21 Gallery :
A gallery of flowers shared on a daily basis to cheer myself and hopefully you, the viewer too, during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic period. Posts from December 2021

These perky petunias remind me of morning glories, although with glories, the contrasting colour is usually in the centre. However, they both are happy to greet the day, and therefore I am always happy to see them. Thank you, Ellie, for the greeting and for the splash of autumnal red atop the trees.
And I am always happy to share happiness wherever I see it, with whoever appreciates it, Janet. So thank you for that vote of appreciation. And I’m glad you liked the trees. No saturation needed, as it was supplied naturally!
Thanks again Ellie always amazed at the variety of colors in the petunia plants. They each have their own special qualities. This particular one you can really see the design and pattern in the petals. And again how that color just attracts you to the center of flower. Hope you have a great day hugs to you and Steve
Thanks Linda. I know you love to dive deep into the flowers, as do I. The designs are so beautiful, aren’t they? Hope your day was good, at least in parts (I know the not so good bits).
I love them both, but I think you know which one I love most!
Thanks, Joyce. I have a very good idea which is your favourite!
For some reason they look like miniature petunias.
Must admit that my parents “specialized” in pansies, not petunias.
I think they are quite small, Jim. I am not sure but I think they were in a small hanging basket near the road up from us. I really don’t see many pansies around here. Strange, now I think of it. I love them.
