Pink Green Hydrangea

Pink Green Hydrangea

Pink Green Hydrangea

Speaking of creative names for flowers (and posts) as I was the other day, today’s doesn’t leave you in doubt as to what you are seeing, I hope. A while back I shared a white and green domed variety that I explained was changing colour through to pink and green. I am pretty sure (but not 100%, I have to confess) that this photograph is that same plant, later on in the development. For the sake of the story today, let’s go with that! It’s amazing how flowers such as this, and I think it’s most common in hydrangeas, can change and develop through the course of their lives. They provide an ever evolving source of photographs, all I have to do is to make sure to have my camera with me and smile at the home owners in a friendly, apologetic manner as I trespass on their lawns to take my pictures. 🙂 So here we have the originally green and white and now pink and green and white hydrangea to wish you all a lovely day. 1. I’ve come to love Hydrangeas in all their incarnations – white to brown or green or pink; green to pink…and everything in between. In fact, I think I love transitional phases best. Wherever this one started, iy has made the transformation beautifully, perfect for a PFD. Thank you, Ellie, for a rosy day

    1. I’m absolutely with you in loving the transformational stages of flowers. And as you say, hydrangeas seem to have mastered the art to perfection. There is one more of this to see another day, photographed yesterday. Thank you so much for the comment, Janet.

  2. Thank you very much Ellie. It is quite amazing how those flowers change from one colour to another. Totally different from what they start out as. And the nice thing is that you can dry them and have them in your house with that colour for quite some time. Thanks again for the bright cheery flower that you posted this morning. I’m sure the householder didn’t mind you taking a picture. Hugs to you and Steve

    1. I know I have you to thank for a lot of the dried arrangements of hydrangeas in my house that carry me through the winter, Linda. We both appreciate the beauty in this humble flower. I hope the householder didn’t mind as I went back yesterday again to catch the end! Thanks Linda.
