Today’s A Flower a Day posting is something completely different! It is a weed which I think I have identified as a member of the mustard family (a brassica), The Virginia Pepperweed also known as Least Pepperwort. Aren’t those great names?! If one of my viewers knows it to be something else, please enlighten me and I will edit my post accordingly! Out of interest and to help in confirming the identification I am posting a second photo of it below. As these photos were taken more for artistic merit than identification, neither photo shows the leaves etc. as clearly as they might. Viewing full size in the gallery might help in identifying and will show the lovely pink seeds more clearly. Perhaps this post will intrigue and provide a brief distraction from the stresses of the day. I hope so and send you all a warm hug.

  1. Can’t enlighten you, Ellie, as to what this particular plant is, but I can say that I have seen them many times on my walks through woods and meadows, where they do their bit to add a touch of colour and some interesting design variation for the observant passer-by. It’s a delicate plant with its bottle-brush shape and tight tiny buds of pink. A delight for a Tuesday. Thank you.

  2. Thanks Ellie they always do add a bright spot to my day. Love the little delicate flowers I’m assuming and the light pink color.
