Mexican Zinnia

Mexican Zinnia

Mexican Zinnia

I do seem to be on a bit of a Zinnia roll these days and so I might as well continue it while I can, as long as no one minds. This richly coloured one also seems to be like a party-goer or a Flamenco dancer, another Maria from Westside Story, with her skirts flaring as she twirls around, exposing the creamy white petticoats under her bright red skirts. She is in better shape than the last one, as if just freshly arrived at the dance. I hope the energy this flower throws off, like some terrestrial firecracker, gives you a boost to start your day, my friends! View all posts on the Home page.  A Flower a Day #402

  1. Mexican or not, this zinnia has taken to decorating her skirt, or his sombrero, in the mexican style for sure. As I’m learning, zinnias are nothing if not creative or inventive. And this little bloom with its rolled up petals most definitely adds a latin flavour to its appearance. Thank you, Ellie, for adding some spice to the day.

  2. Thanks again Ellie such a bright beautiful flower to start your day. It’s intriguing how the pedals are all rolled up so they give the illusion of a white center. But a closer examination shows that they are going to unravel into that bright red color. Hope you have a bright day today. Hugs you and Steve

    1. I thought the same thing as you, realizing as you did, that they are unrolling from the white. Thanks a lot, Linda. It’s a beautiful day, hope you get out into it.
