This is one of those flowers that now cover the verges and banks around here, although when I took this there was (I thought) only one patch, which I had to access by climbing into a ditch. There was a pink one and this mauve one and as I caught this one (or the pink, can’t be sure which it was) I fell up the bank. This was actually better than falling down into the ditch as there were a lot of brambles with thorns and possibly water in the ditch, which I couldn’t see for all the undergrowth. You see what I go through for my project? Okay, you can put your violins away, I am finished with my whining. I hope the complaining hasn’t spoiled any pleasure you might get from viewing this lovely little flower. For those who are not enjoying the intense heat we had yesterday and which is also forecast for today, perhaps this will have a cooling effect with its mauve white colour. Have a lovely day with any obstacles you might encounter being minor ones. A Flower a Day #269 (NB while I make every effort to identify the flowers I post, I make no guarantee that the name is correct. It’s about the photograph, not the name.:-) )

So pretty! Hope all’s well with you after the fall…
Thanks Françoise, all is perfectly fine! I added a touch of drama to the scene is all . I would potentially have got a bit scratched up or wet had I gone into the ditch, but we it happens came out completely unscathed.
This is another example of how good sweet and simple is. It’s comes well-packaged and when opened, it presents to perfection. Not fancy, but very pleasant to gaze upon and in turn, seems pleased with its lot in life. There’s nothing wrong with humble and happy. Thank you, Ellie.
Thank you Janet. So true. And that would be enough for anyone! 🙂
Thank you very much Ellie for sharing this beautiful flower with us. Also your adventures for getting the flower. It is a lovely flower and I like how the colours draw you in to examine the centers. Hope you have a lovely day.
Thanks Linda. Yes, it’s true, your eye is drawn in to the centres. I wonder if this has the same effect for insects etc for pollination?
