Marigold and Bee
Marigolds are such warming flowers. The colours vary from flaming, almost red oranges to pale shades, through this beautiful rich yellow. They really evoke summer to me, as I always plant some in my vegetable garden to deter pests and encourage better yields for some crops. Then, as I always have spare seedlings, they are scattered around the house and garden wherever I find a bit of spare soil. The bee is the bonus today, though, as they always are for the garden and for us. I hope your day has more bonuses in store! Flower a Day #510 View all posts on the Home page.

February 2022 Gallery :
A gallery of flowers shared on a daily basis to cheer myself and hopefully you, the viewer too, during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic period. Posts from February 2022.
The story of Marigold and Bee, two star-crossed lovers who families said ‘friends is fine, but you can’t spend your lives together’. However, Marigold and Bee could not stay apart…Bee was drawn to Marigold’s luminescent locks, and Marigold yearned for Bee’s embrace. Blinded by their symbiotic relationship, they did not notice their innate differences, nor did that matter. They had found something much bigger than just themselves… and so, they hugged each other until the season ended and the cold called Bee away. Thank you, Ellie, for this portrait of Marigold and Bee by which they shall be remembered for eternity.
I mentioned to you that this reply actually made me laugh out loud, Janet, and that doesn’t often happen. What a happy story you made from my photograph. You really brightened my day, despite the ice storm. Thank you. I hope others read it, too.
Thanks so much again for sharing. It is a beautiful bright color and so full of petals. Love the fact that I can zoom in I never realized how blue the legs of a bee are. I hope we all get the bonus of not losing our power today. But if we do we have the other bonus of having a generator which gives us the necessary things that we need. Hope you have a great day hugs to you and Steve..
And thank you once again Linda, for your lovely comment and your attention to detail. I noticed the blue legs of the bee and was surprised at them myself. Steven wonders if it is perhaps my processing which produced that effect, but I secretly think that it might just be a blue legged bee variety! On such a day we are grateful for small spots of brightness, so I know I was glad to see it myself. And, as you say, if we do lose power, then our generators will help keep the lights on! Hugs back to you both.
