Magnolia Opening
At the end of another year, I am posting a flower that speaks of hope and promise along with an elegant beauty. Once again enhanced by a recent rainfall, this opening magnolia bud from our tree is a beautiful symbol of good things to come. The magnolia tree in our garden has weathered hurricanes and winter storms that have damaged it severely, once destroying the centre completely, but each time it recovers to bring us a wonderful feast for the senses of sight and smell. When in bloom, the scent of the tree which is at least 20 feet tall is intoxicating and total strangers have driven up to ask us if they could photograph it, it is so beautiful. A single blossom alone is enough to delight the senses, so on that heady note, I look forward to the next year of flowers, sending everyone a warm hug from wintry Nova Scotia to wherever you are.
