Late Rose at Sunset

Late Rose at Sunset

Late Rose at Sunset

Sunsets give us such joy when we see the brilliant colours spread across the sky. Sometimes, though, it’s worth looking around us to see what these last sun’s rays do to the things they touch. I had seen this rose bush on my walk a week or so ago and marvelled that some were still in bloom, surrounded as they were by the hips of past flowers. As I went past them on this particular evening, the setting sun was just touching this rose, transforming it with even a richer colour. I ran onto the lawn where it grew and took 3 photographs of it within seconds. I knew the light was going and so I had to move fast. This was the first, but the second and third had lost it. I knew it when I took them. I am so glad I got this to share with you all and to hopefully brighten your Saturday with the glow of sunset enhancing the natural beauty of the flower. 1. It’a obvious to me that this beautiful rose is enjoying the glow of the sunset as much as I am enjoying looking at your shot of it. The bloom is not yet off this rose, so there may be more sunsets in its future…if the weather cooperates. Thank you, Ellie, for the warm glow.

    1. The warm glow is my shared pleasure, thank you, Janet. After last night, I fear that the frost will have put paid to any warmth, if not the glow and on my walk past, a few evenings ago there were no more roses on the bush. Until next year! Thanks again.

  2. So happy you were able to capture a flower in the right light. It is amazing to look at it and see the petals unfurling. It certainly is a lovely colour and a bright spot in the fall of the year when most all other flowers have stopped blooming. Glad you were able to find these little hangers-on. Thanks again so much for sharing this with us. Hugs to you and Steve..

    1. I am so glad you like it, Linda. There are still so many lovely things around us, so we ca still enjoy them. And the light makes such a difference. Thanks again.
