Red Pelargonium
Today we have something that is no shrinking violet, my friends! No, today we have a vibrant, bold, even flamboyant red pelargonium. When I was looking through my photographs to share today, this glamorous beauty fairly danced out and hit me in the eye with its bright pop of colour. It took me back to that day in late September almost eighteen months ago, at the start of my project, when a walk with my camera yielded a rich abundance of growing things like this one, to store up for the daily flower postings. I hope you have a bright, happy day today to match the exuberance of this gorgeous flower. Flower a Day #526 View all posts on the Home page.

February 2022 Gallery :
A gallery of flowers shared on a daily basis to cheer myself and hopefully you, the viewer too, during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic period. Posts from February 2022.
Although perlargonia are members of the geranium family, I suggest that what you have here is an actual geranium and not a perlargonium. They are easily, and often, mistaken one for the other. The difference being that, even in the cluster variety, the petals of the perlargonium are more elongated and separated than those of the geranium whose petals overlap. But all that is an aside to the brilliant, rich red of this bloom which takes centre stage as it should when it sways back and forth to the tune of ‘the lady in red’. “I never will forget the way you look tonight”. Thank you, Ellie, for a touch of nostalgia.
You could be right, Janet. But the main thing is the enjoyment and the song was going around in my head, too! Thanks as always.
Yes indeed it is a very vibrant color. Really makes you stop and take notice. A bright spot for Any day. Nice and cheery. Thanks again for sharing always look forward to seeing them. And I could tell by the title a little bit of what the flower was going to look like this time. Hugs to you and Steve hope you have a great day.
Thanks again Linda. Yes, cheery is what I was aiming for and I agree this has done it. Hugs back to you.
