The other day I mentioned a wild potentilla and this might have been one I was referring to. There seem to be many of the family, but this simple flower with its beautiful jagged leaves really appealed to me. I wouldn’t have ever noticed this without a close look as I went along on my walk. No wonder my walks take me twice as long! I hope you all like my little bright offering today and enjoy your day, friends! A Flower a Day #320 (NB while I make every effort to identify the flowers posted, I make no guarantee that the name is correct. It’s about the photograph, not the name.:-) )

This is another of those “rose by any other name” flowers. I think that if you look closely, which Ellie’s photo allows us to do, you will see the family resemblance. Unlike cultivated roses, the wild ones are country lasses of character and have no need for frills to hide their good strong bones. Straightforward and frank is good enough for me. Thank you, Ellie.
I see it! Thanks for the additional information about this simple little flower, Janet. Always interesting.
Quite a unique Little flower. The large space between the petals. I don’t recall seeing that before. But like you say sometimes we just don’t take the time to stop and really look. Thanks for bringing them close up to our eyes and helping us to appreciate the beauty that’s around. And it is a bright sunny spot to brighten our day. Hope you have a great day..
Thanks for the lovely comment Linda. I’m so glad to bring them up close and personal to any who enjoy seeing them with me.
