Gooseneck Loosestrife

The exquisite, cascading bouquet of tiny flowers that you see here is growing under a hedge beside the footpath in our village. I had never seen these before, so they made me catch my breath as the evening light fell just on to the top of this spray, with its open flowers. All of the others were in the shadow and almost obscured from view. Life is full of wonderful surprises if you keep your eyes open, expecting them to appear when least expected, if you don’t mind this apparent contradiction. Dear readers, I hope that today brings you all something happily surprising and as delightful as this. You will see below a different way to view galleries I have made so far of the images, by month. 1. Exquisite is right, Ellie. You’ve captured this beautifully. It looks good enough for a bridal bouquet. Thank you so much, Ellie, for this ocular treat.

  2. Ellie every morning I wake up to see Ellie has been posting again . El that is a real commitment and I guess a great passion to have in these times where the powers to be want to lock us all down and here in Australia really are screwing up the Country .
Loved ones just across the border and full vaccinated are not allowed home … NUTS …
It is the times in the world and it will get worse when you read the book so …. Another gorgeous day here and in paradise ….. Bowling with the boys later and now to go feed 4 hungry Butcher Birds singing outside my kitchen door ..

    1. Well it sounds as if you are not being too affected by shut down restrictions, Len! Good you hear you are still able to bowl with the guys and feed the birds. I committed to sharing one a day to help cheer any who are feeling low while Covid is still affecting people somewhere (as well as myself). So that means I still share. Perhaps I should be committed 😉 … But I do still have a lot of flowers waiting in the wings to greet you, one at a time every morning.
All the best to you both from us both.

  3. That is so unique Ellie. And I could see how it would catch your attention and hold it for quite a while. Don’t think I’ve ever seen it before but it must be around here. Thanks again for sharing hope you’re having a great day. Thanks to you and Steve

    1. Thanks Linda. It’s beside the iron railing next to the sidewalk on the way into the centre of Canning. But of course they aren’t there now, it was taken a while ago. It was a gift to me to be able to share with you for sure!
