Fox and Cubs

Pilosella - Fox and Cubs
Pilosella – Fox and Cubs

Honestly, I didn’t plan to have a Hen and Chicks flower photograph followed by a Fox and Cubs one! But isn’t it great that it worked out that way? And neither is a threat to each other. This is a little wild flower, common, but so bright and cheerful, just what we need for these days of constant rain. I hope it brightens yours, my friends! Flower a Day #315  (NB while I make every effort to identify the flowers posted, I make no guarantee that the name is correct. It’s about the photograph, not the name.:-)

  1. Oh, I have seen these little guys around on the trails and in the meadows. I had no idea they were called ‘fox and cubs’ though. I would look at them and wonder – are they akin to the dandelion or to the daisy? or are they a different family? It seems they are all related…and so, that explains the family resemblance. As we know, there is a wide world of asters. So happy to make the acquaintance of this latest example of aster sunshine. Thank you, Ellie, for brightening the world today.

    1. I’m so glad to brighten your day, any day! Thanks Janet. You can watch for the little lovelies playing in the sunshine and call them by their name now.

  2. Thanks Ellie it is bright and cheery. And it’s nice and Frilly on the petals. Love how we can get a closer look by zooming in and seeing so many more of the details. Already brightened my day as a little bit of sunshine is now appearing in the window. Thanks

    1. Who would have thought my wish would be so easily (and quickly) fulfilled! Enjoy the little sun you get today, in that case, Linda, as it doesn’t seem there is much more to come. And thank you for zooming in! Have a good day.
