Common Tansy

Common Tansy

Common Tansy

For the last post of the month, after the exotic blooms of the last couple of days, we are back in the wild today with a simple flower, common tansy, also known as golden buttons or bitter buttons (among other names). I love these tight little yellow heads grouped together literally dotting the roadsides, brightening up the countryside along with other bright yellow autumn wildflowers, such as goldenrod. If you have rain then maybe this will brighten up the morning for you, and if not, then hang on to it for the next rainy day. Rain or shine, enjoy your day, my friends. 1. Like a handful of gold coins some rich person has strewn on the meadows or at the roadside, these bright buds enrich the lives of all who come in contact. Thank you, Ellie, for making me feel flush today.

    1. We are all the richer in our hearts for these golden buttons, though some consider them a trifle ungainly. Ungainly is as ungainly does, I say! Thanks, Janet.

  2. Thank you very much Ellie. It is a lovely little cluster of bright sunshiny flowers. I could see where they would be called button flowers they certainly do look like little buttons that’s for sure. Hope you have a great day hugs to you and Steve

    1. It’s a really good name for them, I agree, Linda. Flowers are getting slim on the ground, so it’s lovely that there are still some going. Hugs back to you both.
