Collard greens

This might be the most delicious flower I have featured for a while! The collard greens that overwintered the snow and frost have now flowered and there is a mass of these wonderfully spicy, tasty yellow blooms hanging over that bed. I am still eating the last of the leaves from it. What a giving crop! I couldn’t resist taking this photo and as I wanted a yellow photo for variety today, this one is the choice for you all. A bit of spicy yellow does us all good. Enjoy your week, my friends. A Flower a Day #275  (NB while I make every effort to identify the flowers I post, I make no guarantee that the name is correct. It’s about the photograph, not the name.:-) )

  1. Ooo, I just love the taste of yellow – those buttery undertones with just a zest of lemon; maybe a suspicion of turmeric to spice it up a bit. Your tastebuds can’t believe what your eyes are seeing and vice versa. But it matters not because in the end, everything is golden. Thank you, Ellie, for this touch of Midas.

    1. so glad this hit the spot for your gastronomic visual delight Janet! Perhaps I should now style myself ‘Goldfinger’? Thanks again!

  2. Lovely clusters of bright yellow to cheer our day. Added bonus that they have a nice taste and can be used in a salad. Or just a little snack when you’re in the garden. Thanks again for sharing Hope you have a lovely week.

    1. Thanks for the comment, Linda. As you know, they are a tasty snack when in the garden. A little spicy pick-me-up. Enjoy your week, too.xo
