Clove Pink
This looks as if it should be sticking out of a buttonhole on some dapper jacket, but it was just growing in a flower garden. I say ‘just’ as though that is a less worthy situation. At least this one was there to give pleasure to the viewer for a much longer time and didn’t wilt the way it would if picked. I do love to see a beautiful bouquet of flowers on my kitchen table, but it is so lovely to see them in their natural environment. I guess there is a place for both. And now today there is a third way it brightens the day, which is in the photograph where it never will wilt, ever. Enjoy your day, everyone. View all posts on the Home page. A Flower a Day #438

November 21 Gallery :
A gallery of flowers shared on a daily basis to cheer myself and hopefully you, the viewer too, during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic period. Posts from November 2021
Perfect for a boutonniere, as you say, Ellie. And I bet it smells wonderful, even better than ‘old spice’. We just need something to celebrate…and well, why not appreciate the perfect colouration and fine stitching on the edges of the little carnation. Never too small to miss the fine details. Thank you, Ellie, for reminding that good things really do come in small packages.
I wish now that I had smelled it, but I am sure you are right and that it does. Do you remember our corsages from our Prom? I don’t really, just remember that horrible yellow dress I had to wear. I remember having a corsage, but did we give a boutonniere to our ‘beaux’? I don’t remember. The details in this are what Linda remarked on, too, and someone else (on Tipua) referred to it as a raspberry ripple. So this also can be delicious it seems. Thanks for your lovely comment that inspired memories.
Thanks ever so much Ellie it is beautiful. I love to be able to zoom in and see the intricate details on the petals. Some famous artist has taken much time to paint the tiny details on every petal. Hope you have a pleasant day. Hugs to you and Steve
So true, it is indeed a work of art, Linda. We so much appreciate the beauty of the work when we look closely. They say the devil is in the detail. In this case, it is the opposite! Love to you!
