Cinquefoil on Stones
Here we are in a new month, so we have a new gallery starting with this dainty little cinquefoil growing in a bed of stones. There is such a contrast between the delicate flowers and the stony bed, which reminds me that plants, even the ones that seem the most fragile will grow through and around the strongest obstacles. This little flower doesn’t seem to have the same leaves as the Hoary Cinquefoil that I featured back in July last year, so perhaps it’s a different variety or perhaps its whole energy has gone into surviving and producing these lovely, simple flowers. I hope you all have a day with any obstacles you encounter being ones you easily overcome. The older galleries can be seen by clicking on the links below. February 2022 Gallery :
A gallery of flowers shared on a daily basis to cheer myself and hopefully you, the viewer too, during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic period. Posts from February 2022.
Thanks so much Ellie it is a lovely color. Love the contrasting color of the stones underneath. It is amazing how flowers can flourish in the most harsh environment. Where we could think maybe nothing would grow they managed to find some place to put their roots. Hope you’re having a great day enjoying the sunshine. Hugs to you and Steve
I found it so fascinating as well, seeing that plant flourish there, in those stones. Thanks Linda. The sunshine surely is appreciated, though we could do with a little warmth. Hugs back to you.
This delicate wild rose demonstrates that small is not to be underestimated. One of the uses cinquefoil serves is as a groundcover to prevent erosion. In the example here I choose to think of it as a scattering of sun shine across the hard pebbles sowing hope in the hard ground. Thank you, Ellie, for some February inspiration
It is certainly the pretties of sun shine groundcover I have seen in a while, I agree Janet. Hope is not easy to find these days, but when we see the growth here, we realise that there is hope everywhere! Thanks again.
