Chrysanthemums

Today’s treat for A Flower a Day is a beautiful bunch of chrysanthemums (shouldn’t that be chrysanthema??) in a luscious pink, quite different from what I am used to seeing. I was so glad I had my camera with me when shopping that day a few weeks ago, as these were sitting outside the store waiting for me. I always tell others to ‘take your camera everywhere with you because you never know…’. This time I was following my own advice and it paid off. Such a cheery pink colour will surely help if everything else, weather included seems a bit gloomy. I really hope so.

  1. I love this shot, not just for the gorgeous portrait of a maturing mum bloom but because it also captures the development of that plant from its very tight beginnings through each of its stages to full bloom. Looking around the frame of this photo, one can see how its beauty literally unfolds to reveal a stunning pattern of petals. Not too mention the rich colour which in itself is a marvel and alone would give one cause to pause and admire it, which I do. Thank you, Ellie.
