Changing Hydrangea
The beauty of hydrangeas, and the reason, I think, that most of my viewers said they wanted to see more, is that they have so many beautiful varieties and colours. This was a hydrangea hedge that I took photographs of during many of its changing stages, from opening pale green flowers to finally pinky brown shades. This is a midway stage, taken at the end of August, when the heads are transitioning to a pink, from the original green and through the white. You will see more of this particular variety as I really liked the shape of the heads as well as the different tones. This plant goes through so many changes during its cycle and each one fascinates and intrigues me, rather the way old friends can do. Enjoy your friendships, whatever changes time brings to them, and to you. Flower a Day #478 View all posts on the Home page.

January 2022 Gallery :
A gallery of flowers shared on a daily basis to cheer myself and hopefully you, the viewer too, during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic period. Posts from January 2022.
Yes, the beauty of hydrangeas, apart from the obvious, is that they are the perfect model for how to go through life with grace and dignity. Even in the final dried and browned-out stage, there is no bowed head or falling petals. Consequently, the hydrangea is adored and admired to the end…a fate we can all aspire to. Thank you, Ellie, for this fine example.
Exactly so, Janet, I have to agree as I sit here surrounded by 4 displays of these beauties dried, in different tones of beauty, at their final stage. Thank you.
It is lovely Ellie. And I have to agree it’s amazing the different colors that that particular flower goes through. And in a hedge I would think it would look lovely..
Thanks Linda. It does and one day I hope I can show you!
