Celebration Double Rose

Celebration Double Rose

Celebration Double Rose

You might wonder why this is called ‘Celebration’ double rose. Well, of course, it is a double rose! But in trying to decide a flower for my 500th post, I had settled on this and so named the image. Then, days later, I found the one you all saw yesterday and chose that instead. Also, as a little side note, Steven and I tend to celebrate things for days and weeks after the fact. For example, our 40th wedding anniversary was on the 11th of December, but we still are celebrating it as though every day was an anniversary – which of course it is! Every day we are given should be a celebration anyway, as I’m sure you agree. This day is a celebration of the life we have! Enjoy it, my friends. Flower a Day #501 View all posts on the Home page.

  1. Ellie I love the way you continue to celebrate every day … you really are a party animal . Now I am one year behind you so this year is mine and supposedly I will be in your neck of the woods so maybe we can catch up …. That would really make the flowers bloom … Not a bad little bit of nature that one either .And us humans think we are so clever and we could never make that … cheers

    1. You hit the nail on the head with that thought, Len. We think we’re so clever. That was a bit what I was saying about the post yesterday. What we do is pretty puny by comparison. So you are 39 years this year? Well done! And thanks for the lovely comment.

  2. Twin innocents, wide-eyed and fresh…and certainly befitting of a celebration. In fact, they are the celebration! I laud the presence of this pair of wild roses on the planet and now, thanks to you, Ellie, their presence in my life. Thank you.

    1. I am so delighted to share this little pair of beauties with you, and everyone who wants to appreciate them with us, Janet. It’s funny to think that, though long gone and convert to hips, they are still here in their petalled beauty to please our eye. Thanks again.

  3. Thanks so much Ellie it is lovely. Such a delicate color and petals. And again the center reminds me of a burst of fireworks. And the little ant is having a good time as well. And I agree everyday we have something to celebrate. Even if it’s just waking up being alive and able to get out and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Hope you have a great day enjoy the sunshine while we have it. Hugs to you and Steve.

    1. Oh yes! Great minds think alike, Linda. Thank you so much for that lovely comment. No outdoors and sunshine for me, stuck indoors doing accounting, but it looks lovely out of the window and I can celebrate that. Hugs back.
