Drummonds Phlox and Announcement

Drummonds Phlox

Drummonds Phlox

This little Phlox flower, blushing so prettily in the centre, is the offering for today. I am making this post with mixed feelings but have decided that now is the time to set a date for my final posting on this project. The last one will be made tomorrow, February 28. Most places are opening up and beginning to return to a new kind of ‘normal’, which will bring relief to many. Our own part of the world has announced just such a reopening and relaxing of restrictions very soon, though this will not mean any changes for Steven and me personally.  The world scene is also shifting and life is changing for us all in different ways. I do know that most people appreciate seeing cheering and happy posts in their mailbox or feeds every day and I will not stop making posts of one kind or another with that idea in mind. However it will not be a post every day. I hope you will enjoy them as much as many of you have told me you have been doing on a daily basis. Have a lovely day, my friends. 1. Thank you so much Ellie for chronicalling the past year and a half or so in such a posiitive and colorful way! I too will revisit this beautiful bouquet of photographs and I wish you all the best.

    1. Thank you so much for that lovely comment, Chrissie. I will in time create a place where all the galleries of flowers can easily be viewed. A future post will let everyone know.

  2. A lovely blushing bloom who has no need to be embarrassed or apologetic for any reason. It has every right to grace our lives with its presence, or not, as it sees fit. Also, your announcement, Ellie, is not unexpected as it has been a long haul since you undertook to bring lightness, beauty and hope into our lives on a daily basis. Thank you, Ellie, for giving me this precious gallery that I can revisit at will whenever I feel the need.

    1. Thank you, once again, dear Janet, for your kind and generous comment. You have been here from the beginning (in so many ways) and, I think, were among those who encouraged me to put these on my site. Your daily comments have been thoughtful and often informative and for that I am grateful. xo

  3. It is a very beautiful flower Ellie. And like you say it almost looks like it is blushing. I really enjoyed your posts but know it takes a lot of time and effort on your part. And as the spring arrives we all get busier so we need to set priorities. Look forward to seeing your occasional posts. Hope you and Steve have a great day.

    1. Thank you so much, Linda, for your kind comments on every post, including this one. I will share what I can, so I look forward to getting more hugs from you then! Enjoy your day too.

  4. Thank you dear friend for the cheer you have provided through this blog. Your posts have reminded me to seek joy in the simple places that surround us every day – an important mantra in these tumultuous times!

I once heard an interview with a faith leader who said “ We go through our days without recognizing that the ordinary is saturated in the sacred“. It resonated with me so much that I pulled over on the side of the road to write it down. Your gentle way of seeing grace and beauty is a sacred gift that we’ve been lucky to share in. Big hugs!

    1. Thank you my dear friend. Your comment has quite choked me up, as it tells me that I have achieved, at least in part, what I was hoping to. I wanted to bring joy by my photographs but also to encourage readers to see the joy potential around them. I will continue to share beauty where I see it, so keep your eyes peeled for my next post. To these will now be added the element of surprise!
