I know this Flower a Day post title says Wild Carrot and the photo caption mentions Queen Anne’s Lace but actually it was totally unlike any plant I have seen before. It was really low and spread out. The edges of this were raised higher with the middle almost at ground level. The centres were all pink as you see here. A search turned up the this variety. Apparently the root is edible, but only when young. It was imported from Europe to North America for medicinal purposes. Here is another new one for me and perhaps for you, my readers and viewers. I hope you have a day with interesting discoveries that bring some excitement into the regular routine. With that hope in mind, I send love to all my friends.

Like a cluster-burst firework, this little plant shares its flowers with the world. Queen Anne’s Lace is ubiquitous, but I didn’t know that I was also looking at the wild carrot. It seems that it also a plant whose delicate clusters other plants try to emulate. However, none do it so beautifully as this one. Thank you, Ellie.
