White Cosmos in a Jar
The local flower farm I have mentioned in recent posts was selling charming little posies in a jar of water when I collected my vegetables from their farm stand, not long ago. They were so sweet looking and I particularly loved this one that was on the step. The delicate white cosmos with its fine, accordion pleated petals in the centre was just lit by the morning sun filtering through the trees while the shadows deepened the rich colours of the sunflowers around it. I hope this patch of sunlit simplicity brightens your morning. Enjoy your day, my friends. View all posts on the Home page. A Flower a Day #406

This shot reminds me if the iconic photograph of Marilyn Monroe standing over the grate of air on the sidewalk. I imagine, if taken from the top, the view would be similar to this – white pleated skirt flying about the blond curls of actress. Thank you, Ellie, for this iconic shot.
Yes, it really does have that feel, Janet! A viewer on Tipua also remarked exactly that. So it was only me who didn’t see it until viewers with more vision than I notice it. Thanks and you’re most welcome again.
Thanks Ellie, it is a lovely flower. I’m trying to visualize what I think of as a cosmos in my brain and it doesn’t compare to that one. The frills around the middle of the flower make you feel like you should dance. Almost like a swirling skirt. Thanks again for that bright spot in our somewhat dull day which hopefully will change. Hugs to you and Steve.
Thanks Linda. I hope it is a cosmos, but it’s possible my app got it wrong. It does really look like a swirling skirt, you’re right. Thanks again, Linda.
