Treacle Mustard

Treacle Mustard

Treacle Mustard

This must be one of the strangest names for a flower yet, combining a thought of sticky sweetness with intense heat, it sounds more like an exotic dessert dish than a plant! It is the tiniest of flowers that you can imagine, as well, being less than half the size of my little fingernail (and my little fingernails are not big, for those who don’t know me). But the simple beauty these little flowers pack into the little clusters along its purple branches more than makes up for the strange name and small stature. I have found so many flowers that are small and brightly beautiful in the world around me during this project and I feel much richer because of them. I hope this glimpse of the tiny yellow treacle mustard flowers has enriched your day and given you a smile, everyone. View all posts on the Home page.  A Flower a Day #413

  1. Oh yes, I know this little gem. I have seem its bright light dotting the woodlands and meadows about my home. What it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in luminance. I say, ‘glow little treacle mustard. Glow!’ Thank you, Ellie, for today’s lustrous shot.
