Today’s flower is one with special memories for me. It is a rich dark purple, a lovely colour and was given to us by my dear stepfather, Tony. He was visiting us in the spring years ago and bought it for us as a gift. During the visit he remarked that actually he should have visited us that fall, but he had got the various visits he made to family mixed up. I was really glad he had, as he had a bicycle accident in the late summer and died shortly after that. We had that special time with him and now we have this beautiful daylily. Every time it blooms I have fond memories of our times with him. So this flower is one that brings happiness to me in my memories. I hope it brings you the same moment of happiness in your day today.

Standing proud in all its beauty, Ellie, in honour of Tony. Lovely associations with this plant and a fitting capture.
Thanks so much Janet. I don’t remember if you met him before he died. But the association is special for me as you do surely know. x
Very beautiful rich tones!
Thanks Françoise. It’s even better (as are so many things) in the real.
What a sad and beautiful story was behind this shot. I’m so sorry about him, but I’m also glad that this gorgeous Lily makes you think of him. He’s happy for sure.
Thank you so much, Banafshe. It is so good, that it worked out this way was you say. The flowers really are lovely.
